    CREATIVE WRITING
    A ONE-YEAR COURSE

Do you have a budding writer or story teller? Would you like to see the quality and beauty of your student's writing improve? Our creative writing course teaches your student not only how to write better sentences and paragraphs with more descriptive words, but also how to write a complete story with character dialog and descriptions of scenery. This great course will improve the quality of any type of writing!

The Teacher's manual is written in a scripted format that you read as you teach, just like reading the part of a character in a play. This simple method even tells you what to write on the chalkboard and when to expect a response from your student.

The student's consumable textbook is a comprehensive, hands-on course that skillfully guides your student through the learning the writing process. This hands-on book contains units of three chapters each. Each unit begins with a chapter of Ethics Skills teaching your student how to write scripturally honoring stories.

Next, each unit contains a Writing Skills chapter with easy-to-follow instructions that gradually introduce new concepts to facilitate the growth and maturation of writing skills. These lessons begin with writing manageable paragraphs, and then gradually build to a multipage story. As your student learns more, more writing is required. Beginning lessons focus on describing words (adjectives): how to use them and where to find them. Middle lessons teach about conversation in a story: how to write and punctuate. Final lessons teach about purpose and plot as well as how to combine everything that is learned into a story.

The third chapter in each unit is full of Grammar Skills and PRACTICE exercises. Your student is taught each grammar rule which he/she then practices and is instructed to apply to current and future writing.

    LAB REPORTS

Organization, analysis, and good writing are important skills for all students to master. Learning to experiment and write lab reports is not just a course that will transform a science student's writing. Humanities students, as well, will benefit tremendously from the organizational skills and logical thinking processes that change a paper from a flurry of thoughts into an articulate and well presented paper.

This easy-to-use consumable textbook teaches your inquisitive student how to write science lab reports in a step-by-step format. The introductory sections include: What is a lab report? What are the elements of a lab report? What is the scientific method? What experiment/science project should be chosen?

    • LEVEL ONE: This level teaches your student the steps of the scientific method. Your student learns to determine a title for an experiment, formulate a hypothesis, record pre-experiment information, record observations and data, make tables and graphs, and analyze/determine the results of an experiment. This work is all recorded in a log. Your student is then taught how to transform and transfer the data from the log to a final lab report.
    • LEVEL TWO: This level expands the foundational skills taught in LEVEL ONE by teaching your student how to refine and master the log preparation process. This level also spends ample time teaching your student to write the content of a report better. Many examples are given on how to improve writing. These reports will contain greater subject depth, analytical clarity, and length. Your student is also guided through the process of recording data and transforming it into a final lab report. The result is the production of a first-rate, secondary/college level lab report. Both levels include the following.

      • Detailed instructions
      • Workbook format
      • Preprinted forms for 3 logs and 3 lab reports
      • Teacher grading instructions and grading charts

This 92-page book is intended for all students, grades 3-12, performing experiments. It can be used with most third-party lab materials which may require a written lab report but do not provide detailed instructions as to how to write one.

"Our son really loves using this course with his science textbook."
