DISCERNING EVOLUTION IN CURRICULA

Have you ever enjoyed the pictures in a book so much that you missed the fact that the book was promoting evolution? Have you ever enjoyed the story in a book so much that you missed its using a dark side of life, like crime, to entertain you? Have you ever liked the cover of a book so much that you bought it, gave it to your child, and did not know that the content contained witchcraft ideas with the intent of subtly indoctrinating your child into these practices?

These examples sound a bit extreme, and you may say, "no, never me;" but in fact, concepts that are promoting evolution, divorce, witchcraft, crime, etc., are often woven into a book in ways that you may not be detecting. These concepts may be placed in books on purpose to subtly indoctrinate. On the other hand, the concepts may be put there because in preparing the books the culture, without even being aware, has been compromised by sin.

For example, the entertainment world that has infiltrated all areas of our life, including education, has created a huge industry using talking animals to entertain and educate children. So many shows, curricula, books, and other media contain these concepts that few people ever question the scriptural basis for such presentations. Many Christian and non-Christian curricula even contain pictures of animals used to entertain your students so that they will learn better or used as outright teachers to teach your children. Consider the subtle moral lesson taught by a book that uses bunny rabbits to teach good grooming habits or a story where cute elephants are used to teach the value of community living, etc. The list goes on and on with varied teaching methods today's culture has used to place animals as teachers/educators over humans, but is this custom scriptural?

What do Scriptures teach us? In Genesis/Bereshith 1:26, our Heavenly Father/Elohim shows us His will: "And Elohim said: 'Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over all the creeping creatures that creep on the earth.'"

As Christians we reject evolution in favor of creation because we are people of the Scriptures. We believe our Heavenly Father created all things according to His will, and His Spirit within us convicts us that this fact is so. Any concept that spins creation of man from animals is an evolutionary concept. Indeed, evolution puts animals above man and as the original parents of man. Yet Scriptures place man above animals and commands that man will rule over animals. Animals that are used to aid in teaching or used to do the actual teaching in any medium, be it a curriculum, book, or TV show, present an evolutionary concept. These books, curricula, and shows purposely or subtly use animals to indoctrinate the public into accepting, supporting, and living under/within the concept of evolution.

Now being the honest person that you are, can you still say, "no, never me"? Think about the following questions. Have you ever seen or bought a curriculum that had a story in it about animals that was used to teach a moral, ethical, or scriptural principle? Have you ever seen or bought a curriculum that used pictures of animals to aid in the teaching process, outside of teaching what an animal looks like in a science type of textbook? Have you ever seen or bought a curriculum that used an animal to teach, tutor, or give helpful tips to your student? Are you surprised that some of those books were even Christian?

See how subtle the sins or ignorance of others weaves sin into the fabric of our lives and the lives of our children? At Resurrection Resources we recognize this sin and ban it vehemently. Our curricula do not use animals in any way to indoctrinate, either overtly or subtly, any person into the concept of evolution. In fact, many of our textbooks teach your students discernment of these types of errors. One book in particular that we recommend to all families is our HOW TO WRITE BOOK REPORTS curriculum. This curriculum teaches your student through guided Scripture studies what are good, scripturally sound books to read and what are sin-filled books that should be avoided, not purchased, and purged from your home.

At Resurrection Resources we know the world is full of sin and that discerning the subtleties of sin's intrusion into every human being's life is often difficult. Therefore, we are committed to helping you through our desire to protect family values that are scriptural. We are here to help by infusing our textbooks and workbooks with truth that sharpens teaching skills and deepens discernment. We hope you will take a deeper look into our educational materials.
